There’s a lost Sheltie up on the mountain that I think I’ve found the owner for.

A week out, the dog has gone native and wouldn’t come to her calls.

I left food out where I last saw him to try and keep him in the area and off the roads.

I wish everything was as easy as offering half a mil for his return.

/nervous wreck, feel useless

If it only took a week for the Sheltie to prefer the wild to its owner, there’s probably a good reason. Or the Sheltie has always preferred its own company.

As a veterinarian, can i just say Thank you, for being persistent enough to keep caring. If the sheltie is a now lost and scared house dog, your efforts will be rewarded. The dog is doing his best to survive the unknown. You will become the known. Dog’s next hero.

I hope the owner doesn’t give up.
