Now, it has been reported that Öræfajökull, the largest volcano in Iceland is all set to erupt.
Geologists in Iceland have warned that this volcano may erupt at any time, causing massive destruction in the surrounding areas. Until this year, seismic activities were very rare in Iceland. But now numbers of earthquakes have triggered fears of a possible volcanic eruption.
It was in 1727 that Öræfajökull last erupted. Before that, it underwent explosion in 1362 causing widespread destruction.
