I absolutely believe that. At the risk of running afoul of Godwin’s Law, what we’re seeing today is something like how the Nazis persecuted the Jews. Begin by blaming them for things that happened in the past, like for the German loss in WW I. Then remove (cancel) them from places where they had some influence - the government, schools, etc.

Fade in.

Uhm, careful, that’s what got Gina Carano cancelled from Star Wars.

/ - lol.. man, that joke writes itself, doesn’t it? No, not the ‘fade in’, but Kathleen Kennedy, the “President” or CEO, or whatever, the head honcho of Star Wars for the long dead mouse.

They're a non-profit org, and their products are distributed free. AFAIK, time and effort are contributed/donated, but if you're interested in details:

Sorry, I was being facetious. Look at private universities, they are technically “non-profit”, but Stanford has more in its endowment that some states have in their budget. Stanford has just under a $28,000,000,000 (that’s billion, with a B) endowment. The states with a $28 B or less budget are (in depreciating order)

Nevada.........................26.3 B
North Carolina.................23.9 B
Minnesota......................23.9 B
Connecticut....................21.5 B
Mississippi....................21.1 B
Utah...........................21.0 B
Indiana........................21.0 B
New Mexico.....................19.1 B
Kansas.........................18.4 B
Hawaii.........................15.4 B
North Dakota...................14.7 B
West Virginia..................13.8 B
Rhode Island...................10.0 B
Nebraska.......................9.7 B
Wyoming........................8.9 B
Iowa...........................8.9 B
Alaska.........................8.3 B
Oklahoma.......................8.1 B
Maine..........................8.0 B
Idaho..........................7.9 B
Vermont........................6.0 B
New Hampshire..................6.0 B
Montana........................5.1 B
South Dakota...................4.9 B
Delware........................4.5 B

So, if the government would confiscate all of Stanford’s endowment, they could fund the bottom 5 states for an entire year, or 10% of the entire country for a year.

Just something to think about regarding scale, etc.

< and many of those states are much older than Stanford >
