I could see this event in Dubai but not in Qatar. Not sure why Qatar wanted to host this in the first place.
Qutar wanted to ban bikinis and thought the athletes would comply.
Countries like the UAE and Qatar have realized that the oil isn’t going to last forever and they need tourism and investment from the outside world. Abu Dhabi is still pretty strict but Dubai is like Vegas on steroids. And Doha is a close second.
