It sounds like a missile to me.
Note that both China and Russia are supposedly ahead of us on hyperfast missile technology.
Why should anyone doubt the government/military are testing these and do NOT want to acknowledge that?
In fact, from an OPSEC point of view, it makes sense to let people think it is aliens.
