Owning a farm out in the country gives us the ability to take our vision of what we wanted to produce and the comforts we wanted our family to be endowed with. At the very heart of our home, is faith in the Creator of all that we stand on and live by. God put eternity into the souls of man. We have taught our children and grand kids to take good care of their souls. Since the whole world groans with the weight of sin, God sent His son Jesus to die on the cross to redeem the souls of man. So that man could be forgiven and could become children of God and be able to have an eternity in heaven.
We were younger when we started to build we planted flower beds in antique metal bed frames in our yard and gardens. Now, as spring begins to peek through the snows of winter, clearing out the fallen leaves and dead plants is needful but we do it anyhow because of the joy of seeing new growth of the perennials will bless us with vivid colors after a drab winter. My husband has started to plant his seeds for the garden in indoor containers. He finds the best light and warmth for them to grow in. One fall we had a large red squirrel who got to our ripe pear crop before we did,. We saw him staggering around the yard drunk. A Red-tailed hawk came down and nearly caught him! That will teach you, don't drink to excess and expect to survive!
God is the Great “I AM” existing before time and space and the creator of those foundations. God promised to be the author and finisher of our faith. His plan is able to bring us all home through faith is His Anointed One, Jesus the Savior and can be trusted it is all virtues. One example is the flood, God told Noah to build an ark that would preserve his family and he preserved the animal life. God knew we would need the fossil fuels and the buried flora and fauna made the oil and coal we need today. God knew what our atmosphere needed to be to keep us. God has an end time plan for mankind and the world.
I am handicapped and cannot spend much time standing so I have to plan for places to rest. We converted our garage into a spa and exercise room where we have a heated swim spa that my husband built. I become as fluid as the water upholds me and I float. I praise God for giving me a place where I rise above my limitations. I decorated the room to look like a beach cottage at the ocean. Being a former garage the floor is uneven and not level which created a problem when I wanted a weathered wood looking tile floor. But my husband, being the engineer, had to take my vision and find a way to make it work.
We built an addition to our house recently and my husband built the foundation, then I decorated it with more furniture than he thought, so he had to support the foundation. The atmosphere where our family gathers is full of loving faith sharing stories I wanted to be near every one, so we put an antique brass bed out there, as the quilt with blue and white roses gracefully adorned it the first night I awoke to a blue hazy light bathing the room in a cool glow, the moonlight reflecting off the snow made and it like and ethereal cathedral to worship in.
Our local hardware store is owned by an older farmer,so when we go there we discus crops . He is more reliable than the Farmers Almanac. The proprietors have helped us through all of our construction projects and to me its a treasure trove of wood and natural materials to create something special with, and to catch up with the local happening. Recently during a visit to the store, a man started to criticize my clothing! He told me I was dressed too nicely for the hardware store! Since I wear a cross necklace and endeavor to carry the presence of God with me, I responded, that since the LORD was going to return soon I was dressed ready to meet Him! At home I fumed, “why did that man try to spoil my enjoyment of the hardware store and try to spoil my vision of it?”. I had to forgive him and not let him steal my joy. We went back the next time and had a great time!
America is a free spirited self determining group of people; we know how to thrive in our freedoms, and we love God and our country.
I love our local small-town hardware store too! (It’s an Ace franchise.) I could spend hours perusing their fascinating inventory. Alas, unless it’s an emergency I’ve decided to stay away until this chinky flu hysteria has passed. They’ve taken to posting one or more very aggressive Karens at the entrance to enforce their new face-diaper regime.
Wow, sister-in-Christ! God has surely blessed you with an ability to proclaim Him in your life & written words. This I will share with my closest friend whom God has granted me as an answer to my prayers.
