"The Northeast blackout of 2003 was a widespread power outage throughout parts of the Northeastern and Midwestern United States,
and the Canadian province of Ontario on August 14, 2003, beginning just after 4:10 p.m. EDT..
Most places restored power by midnight (within 7 hours), some as early as 6 p.m. on August 14 (within 2 hours),.."
The Grid electrical collapse started in Canada.
It caused the grid collapse all the way through Ontario, Canada, as far as Rhode Island, as far west as Ohio, and as south as Pennsylvania.
The fact that currently Chinese parts are going to be introduced into the Grid, under the current administration, raises my concern about Grid security.
The Wikipedia article minimizes the outage as many places, myself included, were without power for over 1 and 1/2 days.
That includes traffic lights, night security alarms, refrigeration, and food preparation; the blessing is that it didn't occur during a full-blown winter storm.
Next time, ... ??
I have not yet purchased, but it is on the list of upgrades for my diesel truck. I have other electrical issues to address first along with suspension. Just sharing the information for others.
