I have to admit that I eat at Taco Bell way too often. I typically order off the value menu or get one of their promotional $5 box assortments that comes with a drink.
The new menu items that I end up enjoying the most are often the ones that I have been most skeptical of to begin with. Taco Bell doesn’t make much if any effort to produce food that bears more than a vague resemblance to traditional Mexican food.

The cheddar Gordita is a good example of an intermittent promotional menu item that is absolutely delicious. Who would have thought?

No they do not make any effort to make Mexican food, and outside of the $5 box thing they are quite pricey.

I miss al pastor which came to Mexico via middleastern immigrants and is cooked on a spit and shaved off all toasty like shawarma or gyros, but is NOT served on flatbread, even though that would help sop up the juices.

I’m the same way. If I like the box, I order the box every time.

This actually looks kinda good.
