Those are N95 masks. Carefully and tightly fitted. Changed every 15-20 minutes.
They are most certainly not cloth, not used repeatedly and/or for long stretches of days or even weeks. Not hung from a rearview mirror to collect auto exhaust particles, pollen and God knows what else.
I had a supply of real N95s in my workshop long before the virus arrived. Those suckers are hard to breath through for more than 10 mins or so.
You are just giving this idea that medical workers throw on the masks for a short period of time. I bet if I ask my sister, who has worked in a hospital for 30 years what the real story is, or her daughter, who is an operating room anesthesiologist, I would get the same story you are telling.
