The title is rather misleading at best. It leads one to believe that the new CEO of parlor wants George Soros to rewrite the Constitution, but that is not the case. What this article really is, is a piece trying to dissuade people from supporting an Article V COS from being enacted. This is an argument that has been debated for decades.

Theoretically, since the majority of state legislative bodies are controlled by republicans, if we were to engage in one, now is the time to do so.

There is a difference between a Constitutional Convention and a Convention of States. This writer has them mixed up.

The Constitution provides that an amendment may be proposed either by the Congress with a two-thirds majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate or by a constitutional convention called for by two-thirds of the State legislatures (aka Convention of States).

Moot point since neither will happen.

A constitutional convention cannot be restricted. When it starts, anything can be proposed. It’d probably be turned against us even if we had the majority of the state delegations. It would be as all encompassing and detailed as the Texas constitution. It would be created by the Republican state legislators who refused to stop the steal.

That said, it might be our only hope someday.

Wacko nutcase news. Any election gives George Soros an opportunity to rewrite the laws, but that doesn't mean that we give up on elections. Someone could support a convention of states, but that doesn't mean they want Soros to rewrite the Constitution.

This is just nutty. Opposing a new convention is a good idea. Too much could happen. We don't need a new Constitution. But the point of the article seems to be to smear somebody by associating him with Soros.

Total garbage headline. COS will not rewrite the constitution to Soros’ Mentality.

Mike Farris, Mark Levin etc are in favor of COS.

I don’t think the Parler CEO supports Soros. The article is just fear porn that, if a Convention is held, liberals will grab control of it and Constitutionalize their agenda. They will do that anyway in due time. In the mean time, they want us paralyzed from doing anything until they are ready to do it themselves.

You name 37 states that would ratify a Soros constitution and then I might start worrying.

We've had a few ferocious and informative threads on the Article V Convention over the years here on FR, although this is the first time Soros has come up by name IIRC. That invocation may be a little overheated, although I wouldn't want to be responsible for what happens if you say his name three times. Nevertheless, I think, given the current distribution of power inside the Beltway, that the conglomeration of vested interests partially termed Deep State would fight to the death to prevent outsiders - American citizens, that is - from spoiling their tidy arrangement.

There is, of course, the possibility that delegates may take the bit between their teeth and head off into political parts unknown - that is, after all, how we got the Constitution we have. George Mason didn't play along, but that didn't stop anything. Nevertheless, there is always that inconvenient process called ratification to guard against a radical putsch. Is it enough? I shall leave that for yet another passionate discussion.

A constitutional convention could turn into a nightmare. Just like the left has hijacked all institutions of the federal government, they would hijack the convention. On the other hand, fascists don’t need approval of the law to behave like fascists, but our current constitution at least gives us hope. That may be all we have left.

The first thing they would do is get rid of the 2nd Amendment.

"Mark Meckler, the new interim CEO of Parler, currently supports a Convention of States that could give George Soros and other interests the power to rewrite the Constitution [??? emphasis added]."
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

Patriots are reminded that the product of a constitutional convention (con-con) is never a new amendment to the Constitution. The product of a con-con is only a proposed amendment to the Constitution which the states can choose not to ratify.

And if the states choose to not ratify a proposed amendment, then the con-con that produced the proposed amendment was arguably a waste of time.

So saying that a con-con will give Soros the power to rewrite the Constitution is seemingly intended to scare the states into not having a con-con imo.

And patriots really need to work with their state lawmakers to repeal the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments (17A). This is because the abuse of their 17A power by low-information citizens by electing crook senators has been instrumental in fostering the growth of the unconstitutionally big federal government that is oppressing patriots under its boots.

Okay, so Parler is no longer a somewhat conservative site.

BIG, HUGE NO!

COS IS A VERY BAD IDEA!

The current Constitution is the finest political document ever written!

It just needs to be adhered to by our various governments!
