BIG, HUGE NO!

COS IS A VERY BAD IDEA!

The current Constitution is the finest political document ever written!

It just needs to be adhered to by our various governments!

“Conservatives treat politics like a hobby.
The Left worships politics as their religion”

Ya know what? That may be the most astute observation I’ve ever read on FR... Well done.

Free Republic is worlds apart from what those social media platforms are. You really can’t compare. FR is basically the dark ages and simply a format to post articles and comment. Not really a lot of easy interaction, not in the same way.

I have not been on Gab much at all. I got signed up but it was lagging so badly with all the new traffic I didn’t hang in there, waiting until they got more juice.

That is unfortunate you are running into antisemitism. You should report it to Andrew, he would want to be made aware.

Balanced Budget Amendment would mean massive withdrawal pain for junkie states and dont see the GOP legislatures wanting to get blamed for that.

Thank you. That's what I thought. It is limited to Amendments. Even though Republicans have the majority (need 66%)) to call for a CoS, the dem/socialist/commies can introduce other Amendments and just turn the whole thing into a circus.

It's all moot since it takes 3/4ths of the States to ratify any Amendment. Bet your life the commies wouldn't vote Yay for anything passed by the State Republican Legislatures, even while their outrageous Amendments fail.

Not sure I like this..

This, is as you suspect, is among the worst ideas ever promoted. It would lead directly to an official one party state with one leader for life and repression would be off the scale. A mirror image of how China is run by the CCP - by and for the CCP, with all others expendable.

Meaning the John Birchers on FR are the fake news? Is the fake news that Parler’s new CEO wants convention that would let George Soros rewrite the Constitution by these John Birchers?.

I’d like to know and relax about this.

That’s why the Gope needs a massive MAGA reform. DJT will set it in motion soon.

Agree. COS has been a conservative talking point for a long time.

Anything “could” happen. Communists and Socialists “could” gain control of all three branches of government for example.

But we’d rather piss and moan about Bogeyman Soros who will probably be dead by the time a COS ever happens.

‘Wow. That’s probably the most disingenuous headline I’ve seen so far this year. It says a Convention *would* let George Soros rewrite the Constitution. But then the excerpt changes that “would” to a “could”.’

Made us click, did it’s job.

This can only work if we are all under the rule of law. We are not. Currently, we have an illegally and illegitimately imposed hierarchy that does not recognize a single legal system. They are immune from the laws they themselves have instituted. COS will work, but not now. Maybe it is too late anyway.

"Parler’s New CEO Wants Convention That Would Let George Soros Rewrite The Constitution"

Such an action would give aid and comfort to the enemy. The Constitution has a word for what the Parler's new CEO is advocating.

The fake news is the writer projecting his fantasies into the article. It’s not a constitutional convention. The states can limit the subject matter and remove wobbly delegates. Then 38 states would have to ratify

I wouldn’t put it past the RATs to use an issue to get it started then re-direct to hammer\adios the 2nd amendment...

No one can really control the convention, but it’s the ratification procedure that won’t change...the convention could totally throw out the current constitution and write another one, but that doesn’t mean any of the changes will actually be ratified by the states....

I also don’t trust a Convention of States. If the Dems can rig an election and get away with it, they can rig anything. They would take America back before the American Revolution.

Isn’t Dan Bongino involved with Parler? Does he agree with this?

True, but what if they lower the threshold again? Say, only 10 states need to ratify, or say once approved by states representing 50% of the total population?

We cannot control that.
