Yeah, I’m sure that the new CEO of Parler wants George Soros to “Rewrite the Constitution”. I can’t get past the idiocy of that premise. What’s worse is that you have so many that immediately believe it.
Conservatives don’t and won’t control anything. Conservatives have deferred all control to the Uniparty (R). As long as the Uniparty (R) swampers get their cut of the American spoils, it can only get worse. A constitutional convention would be sold off to the leftists by the Uniparty (R) wheels just like they bartered away our free elections.
This is fake news that’s been spouted for years. How would Soros control it ? Most assemblies in the country are controlled by Republicans, yeah I know they re bad too. The Convention would be used to bring about change for the Fed govt, the issues would be on the table, not the entire constitution. I would like to see another party that’s number 1 goal would be limited govt, that would fight against Fed overreach. Which means most of what the feds do would be eliminated.
“Thats the question I’ve had for years. Why haven’t the wealthy conservatives built counter measures to the left in the fields of technology?
The left has pretty much seized control of nearly every venue except Talk Radio. Now with the passing of Rush we are crippled to a degree and if the left employs the “fairness doctrine” we can also kiss talk radio farwell for conservative advantage.”
Conservatives, wealthy or not, are busy with their business or career, family, responsibilities, lives. For leftists, power and control are top priority. I know you already know this. But it’s so counter intuitive to normal people, we often forget.
Yes we can, because that would be another amendment that would need to be ratified under the existing rules of 3/4th of the states....
An Article V Convention should only happen if Conservatives can control it.
Conservatives CAN control it. It takes 35 states to approve an amendment.
But you just admitted that a constitutional convention could throw out the constitution and write a new one. That is exactly what happened last time:
1) Throw out the old (Articles of Confederation)
2) Write a new one (U.S. Constitution)
3) Lower ratification requirement (from unanimous to 3/4 of states)
How do you prevent such a thing from happening again?
Sounds like BS.
I call total BS on this article. It is written and promoted by those who wish to keep the status quo, things like term limits for Congress. Can anyone here imagine Mark Levin teaming up with George Soros? That idea has me laughing.
There is no mention in the article that any ratification of Constitutional Amendments 3/4 approval of the states. Article V can only create Amendments. It cannot re-write the Constitution.
If you’d like to educate yourself a bit, I’d recommend “The Liberty Amendments” by Mark Levin.
It smells like it, too.
I’m pretty smart, but lots of times I dont understand Levin. I assumed he might have the IQ of Walter from TV show Scorpions.
I think he is a little distracted right now to be peeved for not following through with your concerns.
True, but read how the ratification works, all amendments to the current constitution agreed to at the Convention would have to be ratified by the states in one of two forms.....and that requires 38 states to ratify.....
So even if the convention approved an amendment that said 1/2 of the states could approve amendments, 3/4th of the states would have to approve that....
Thank you for taking the time to spoon-feed some of us.
That’s my understanding. But really, we are in world beyond rule of law so it could be anything. I think the only restriction is what the states calling it agree to restrict it too.
The makings of a misleading headline
“Parler’s New CEO Wants Convention That Would Let George Soros Rewrite The Constitution”
Thus, we can infer Dan Bongino supports George Soros rewriting the Constitution? I think not. Smell test failure.
Clickbait fake news.
Perhaps a reminder from:
While the purpose of the Constitutional Convention of 1787 was to revise the Articles of Confederation, to ensure a stronger central government, a few days into it, the delegates came to a consensus that it was better to write a new constitution from scratch, instead of revising the existing document.
Your last two paragraphs get to the root of the problem. When Governors and State Legislatures finally man up and take their power back, then and only then will the correct solution have been applied.
States have been derelict in their duty to their citizens for decades. Bowing to the ever more powerful fed guilty of fiscal blackmail among other crimes.
But what if they threw out the current constitution?
How do you keep that from happening?
