It’s one thing to personally decide that perceived risks of a particular vaccine outweigh the value of that vaccine to that individual. And most reasonable people (i.e. non-Karens) have no problem with people making their own decision about what’s best for their own personal health.
Spreading fear and false information about vaccines and supposed dangers is a very different proposition. Calling people “sheep” (or other names) for choosing to take a particular vaccine is different. Trying to ban vaccines or trying to sue the vaccine makers out of business with nuisance suits based on nonsense claims is very different. Mandating vaccines is also wrong.
Each individual has the RIGHT to make their own informed decisions about what’s best for their own personal health and wellbeing. Mocking them for their decision - whether that decision is to take a vaccine or not take it - is wrong. Trying to change that decision with misinformation is wrong. Trying to take away that decision with a mandate, a ban, etc. is absolutely a violation of their fundamental human right to self-determination. An individual who is doing their best to understand the available information and make the best decisions for themselves and their families deserves to have those decisions respected.
Not directing anything at you here; just stating what I think about the conversation in your comment.
We have a right not to believe the “science” of Pharma, the FDA, the CDC, the NIH. All of those federal agencies are composed of bureaucrats. All of those agencies have leadership which is essentially a revolving door with Pharma. There is little doubt that they are controlled by Pharma.
We live in a free country. Science is NEVER settled. It is always open to challenge, discussion, revision, disagreement. We do not live in a technocracy. Freedom and liberty trumps science, ALWAYS. So we have a right to discuss our views, sources and MDs who support our positions. You don’t accept our sources and MDs. And many of us do not accept yours.
Most “anti-vaxxers” are former vaxxers who have witnessed destructive effects of vaccination in family or friends. And we have watched as state after state proposed to remove conscience exemptions. You people have at best remained silent, or openly supported these efforts to remove our freedoms. We have been ridiculed by friends and family and people on social media. Some of our leaders clearly have been murdered over their advocacy against mandatory vax.
Correct or not, vaccines carry an aura of being mandatory. Many many people believe this. I have yet to meet a conventional MD who has told a parent that they have a choice. I have yet to know a pediatrician who thought that a discussion of risk vs benefit, vaccine inserts, vaccine injury reporting, or the voluntary nature of vaccines was their professional responsibility. On the contrary, many pediatricians refuse to treat children if the parents choose not to vaccinate. And pediatric practices receive funding (govt and/or insurance and maybe Pharma) for having a certain % of the practice fully vaccinated. So there is a massive financial incentive.
I think it is hilarious how you people project and play the victim, when all the money and power is on your side.
