The Justice Department and FBI are investigating whether high-profile right-wing figures — including Roger Stone and Alex Jones — may have played a role in the Jan. 6 Capitol breach as part of a broader look into the mind-set of those who committed violence and their apparent paths to radicalization, according to people familiar with the investigation.
The investigation into potential ties between key figures in the riot and those who promoted former president Donald Trump’s false assertions that the election was stolen from him does not mean those who may have influenced rioters will face criminal charges, particularly given U.S. case law surrounding incitement and free speech, the people said. Officials at this stage said they are principally seeking to understand what the rioters were thinking — and who may have influenced beliefs — which could be critical to showing their intentions at trial.
However, investigators also want to determine whether anyone who influenced them bears enough responsibility to justify potential criminal charges, such as conspiracy or aiding the effort, the officials said. That prospect is still distant and uncertain, they emphasized.

Translation. The FBI will have to fabricate evidence. They’re good at that. They have a solid history of doing so. Just ask Kevin Clinesmith. You know. The FBI lawyer who fabricated evidence for a FISA warrant against Carter Page. Clinesmith pled guilty, was convicted, and sentenced to... checking notes... Never mind. There was no sentence. No Proof that January 6 Was an ‘Armed Insurrection’ - Not one person has been charged with possessing or using a gun inside the Capitol. Further, no one even has been identified as carrying a gun inside the building.
At least 100,000 attended Trump’s speech that day; fewer than 1,000 “stormed” the Capitol. A few hundred have been arrested and only 14 face weapons charges. Those “deadly and dangerous” weapons include two baseball bats, a can of pepper spray, a walking stick/stun gun, an axe, a few fire extinguishers (one in question), a helmet, a riot shield, and a collapsible baton. And at no time did this random weaponry pose a lethal threat to lawmakers inside the Capitol.
Do the idiots who used any sort of weapon to harm an officer or damage property deserve to pay for their stupid and violent actions? Yes.

The article quotes Michael M. Clarke. He was the lead FBI agent investigating the 2012 attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi. Is this supposed to add to his stature? That investigation would make Inspector Jacques Clouseau look good. The Guardian claims after the FBI visit, it was possible for them to recover classified documents scattered there.
