On January 6th, almost everyone entering the Capitol were wearing backpacks.

Security protocols prevent any visitor entering the Capitol wearing a backpack.

This side-door opening...avoiding the normal security apparatus to function...is the key to the whole story unfolding on the 6th.

I can say this...around the Pentagon, if you had an incident where a side-door was opened, you’d have an alarm go off and some team would react within a minute. Capital building? It’s like some Wal-Mart structure and minimum security existing.
