Royal Insiders Worry What Will Happen If Prince William Is Given Prince Harry's Military Titles

Earlier this week, news broke that Prince Harry will lose his honorary military titles as his and Meghan Markle's royal exit becomes permanent. The decision, which was made the Queen and announced by Buckingham Palace, is thought to be a disappointment for Harry, who had reportedly been trying to work out a way to maintain his military titles after the royal exit. Royal insiders worry that if Prince William is given the titles, it will only put more strain on his and Harry's relationship. This week, Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will officially be removed from their royal patronages and that Harry will be stripped of his remaining honorary military titles in light of the couple's decision to make their royal exit permanent. In it's statement, the Palace explained: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed to Her Majesty The Queen that they will not be returning as working members of The Royal Family. Following conversations with The Duke, The Queen has written confirming that in stepping away from the work of The Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service. The honorary military appointments and Royal patronages held by The Duke and Duchess will therefore be returned to Her Majesty, before being redistributed among working members of The Royal Family. While all are saddened by their decision, The Duke and Duchess remain much loved members of the family." The decision is said to be a sore spot for Harry, who had reportedly been working on a way to maintain his military titles after stepping back from his duties as a full-time working royal.

What is your point? Your disdain is hardly going to influence their position in the world economy or politics, unless you are Barak Obama.

This is a very public example of how marrying the wrong girl will totally wreck your life.

Other than that, who cares?

Being able to objectively compare the similarities and the differences between our two systems makes me no less American.

We have never had or ever will have a monarchy and quite frankly I don’t understand why any America would revere an oppressive system we had to fight tooth and nail to get out of here.

I am not “revering” the monarchy, sheesh. I am acknowledging the actual situation on the ground— that the UK, which has a Constitutional Monarchy form of government, has been our ALLY in two World Wars and NATO, and also in today’s global realignment with our “frenemies” the EU, Russia and China. London has for a century or more been the center of global finance, and the U.S. financial system cooperates with UK’s. UK is also one of our largest non-commie trading partners.

Understanding that doesn’t make me a fangirl; just a realist.

UK’s monarchy covers the diplomatic and domestic human services part of their political system, and Harry being a loose cannon, consorting and shooting his mouth off with the Obama/Soros globalists, is a danger to our ALLY, the UK, because he is stupid, emotionally ill and reckless. That is my point.

My own ancient people were oppressed by Great Britain for 800 years. Neither my emotions nor yours can change the reality of their system and how it functions, unless you are a member of the top global elite, which I am not, and by all appearances, you are not.

You being all mad because of the American Revolution ignores all the reconciliation that took place between US and UK since the the War of 1812. A mere two centuries.

You don’t have to be...the Brits love their Royals and that’s what they want. You don’t seem to grasp that they choose as do we.....well we use to!

I grasp entirely the fact of who they are and why we chased them out of here. Let the Brits fawn over them. I’m an American. We don’t have a monarchy here. I also remember what they did to my ancestral people the Irish.

I’m not ‘’mad’’. I said I don’t like their monarchy for it gross violations of my ancestral people, the Irish, invading other peoples countries and a ‘’long train of abuses’’.

Is it suddenly verboten here to have a jaundiced view of the British monarchy?

I really don't care about your emotions towards the UK; they are not valid points of discussion about the geopolitical relationship between US-UK.

Harry and Meghan no longer wants to live off their allowances. Do you want to live off your allowance from your mommy and daddy? (If they are still alive, if not, my apologies.)

I don't really blame Harry and Meghan for wanting to do their own thing (even though they are liberal, especially Meghan).

Those allowances are paid in exchange for the Royal Family to stay out of politics, and serve the nation in a non-controversial ways. My guess is that it was not the idea of an allowance that bothered the Duke and Duchess, but rather the idea that they are to be silent on the issues that they are most passionate about. Certainly, they are entitled to endorse any causes, but they must do so without connecting it to the Royal Family, thus the forfeit of the titles and stipends.

Looking back, Prince Harry should had lost his title for marrying Meghan, an American and a divorce. There is historical precedent for this.

I think that the royal family has abandoned their aversion to divorce, if not necessarily to Americans. Charles is next in line for the throne, and he has been divorced and has married a divorced woman.

This trouble with Harry is really not about money, or titles, or divorce, or even an American. It's all about a radical progressive woman who is trying to push a political agenda. Even if beloved Diana had tried to push the family in the direction that Markle seems to want to go, there would have been trouble.
