Larry King was never a direct competitor with Mike for the same age, income or political demographic. Larry perfected what appeared to be basic talent for chatting/ kibbutzing kibbitzing gossiping into a fine art of interviews. His hands only lightly gripping and directing those reins of topic control.

I was certain that I’ve heard that term being used to refer to small talk or gossip. Not certain of the spelling since it’s not a term I would personally ever use in regular speech. Thanks for ‘fixing it for me’.
