Bob Dornan as fill-in host. Dornan had a vendetta against Newt Gingrich because it was him during the Contract for America era who convinced Rush to find someone else- he did not like B-1 representing the Republican Party.

When I first started listening to him he also had a ahort-lived rule that any woman caller was required to have a "photo on file" in order to be let on the air. I can't imagine how they did the filing for that!

The first time I ever listened to Rush’s show it was in the fall of 1991, and Bob Dornan was guest hosting on a Friday because I think Rush was doing an appearance in his Rush to Excellence Tour. I knew B-1 Bob, but had no clue who Rush Limbaugh was. I didn’t listen again to Rush’s show until April or May of 1992. I think it was the show where Rush “endorsed” Ross Perot over old man Bush, but then denied that he had done it. All I remember was Dittoheads were calling in mad as hell at Rush, but he denied to each caller that he said it. I thought it was hilarious. After that day I started listening for good.

I loved B1 Bob. The only republican that could out talk a ‘rat.
