And the GOP governor of Ohio....John Kasich....could not be bothered to show up at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in 2016.

Pathetic.

I was impressed when Bob Dole showed up in Cleveland, despite his advanced age and wartime disabilities.

I was also impressed in 1996 when Bob Dole resigned as Senate Majority leader AND as a U.S. Senator when he ran for president that year.
