FWIW...I had a refurbed model installed for my 90-year old step mother. It was a Bruno and is battery operated so it will run even if the power goes out. If you are close to the Ann Arbor area there is a company that specializes in these applications. I believe the total cost was around $2500 installed with a 1-year warranty.
Not to bad-mouth the Ameriglide units, but I found them to be on the low-end of stair lifts. While my step-mother is light, the Bruno units are rated at 300lbs. It also included the two remotes at the top and bottom of the stairwell to “call” for the unit if necessary.
The company was A4 Access in Rochester Hills. We live near in the Irish Hills and I don’t believe they charged us for travel.
