I sometimes see the language dubbing will say something like, “English” or “English 5.3” Don’t know the difference, but I’m guessing 5.3 is somehow better?
Most of the time, however, the closed captions are not the same as the dubbing. ?Por que es eso?

Dubbing has to match the movements of the actor, especially the mouth movements. Captions can be longer and more accurately reflect the meaning of the original (though they still have to fit in the space on the screen and stay up long enough to be read by viewers).
