It is possible for men to have breast tissue on their chests. It’s a condition called gynecomastia, but lactation is not a thing. Thus, lactation is specific to human beings born with 2 X chromosomes. Therefore, milk is generated from the breasts of a woman, as known in generally accepted parlance. This mincing of words is disgusting.

Back in the 50s the scientific fashion was that it was better to give your child formula (cow’s milk and so kind of powder additive) than breast feeding.

Consequently it became unfashionable and socially unacceptable to breast feed a child in public.

And of course there was the prudish thoughts of breast which you would think with today’s society would be long gone.
