Donald Trump dumps Rudy Giuliani as his personal lawyer on the day they are both sued by congressman accused of causing MAGA riot under anti-KKK law

Former President Donald Trump is no longer being represented by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, the former president's office revealed on a day both men were sued by a House Democratic lawmaker under the Reconstruction-era Ku Klux Klan Act over the Capitol riot.

Giuliani led Trump's failed effort to overturn the election results in states Trump lost, and traveled the country to make the case for 'massive fraud' – traveling even after contracting COVID-19 following a visit to the White House.

He also led his own effort to dig up dirt on Joe Biden and his son Hunter in Ukraine.

This is like the third time MSM has reported Trump firing Rudy.

Of course, I did miss school over 20 times due to my grandmother’s death over the years.

It appears that you posted this comment 5 minutes after I posted a comment with a link to the Military Times, which you probably did not see. Suggest you read it now. It clarifies some of the details of who was doing what when. Bowser was already using NG for downtown traffic and Metro supervision. She need Pentagon permissions to use the DC NG on Capitol grounds. As soon as things were looking serious on local TV the Virginia gov. and subsequently the Maryland gov. offered their NG troops who also needed permission to go on Capitol grounds. Bowser made the DC Armory a staging area for the VA and MD NG once they had Pentagon permission to help at Capitol which apparently was not until near 6 pm when the curfew was to begin.

After reading the link below I don’t know where you get the idea that Polosi was in charge of the Capitol Police. Apparently on Jan. 4,the Chief of Capitol Police had asked the 3 person Capitol Police Board to declare an emergency and ask for NG support. The Board refused the request, and the House and Senate Sgts. at Arms have since resigned, although the Architect of the Capitol did not.

Read the article I linked in Comment #44. Below is some material copied from that article that may answer your question.

There are several congressional investigations that will be undertaken or are underway, including a review by the House Administration Committee in consultation with House and Senate leadership; a joint investigation by the Senate Homeland Security and Rules and Administration committees; separate investigations by Appropriations panels in both chambers; a Government Accountability Office probe; and possibly a commission styled after the one that investigated the 9/11 attacks.

In addition, retired Army Lt. Gen. Russell Honore is leading a review of Capitol complex security, the Capitol Police Inspector General is investigating the riot and the department’s Office of Professional Responsibility is investigating at least 17 officers.
