The Confucius Institutes: A Study in Subversion

The propaganda to which American students are exposed at the Confucius Institutes is tightly controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.

Even in the final hours of his administration, President Trump was working to stop China’s infiltration of American education. He proposed a rule to force schools to publicly disclose their connection with the Confucius Institutes and classrooms or lose certification for the Student and Exchange Visitor Program. On January 26, “President” Biden revoked that rule. Now Democrats have voted to give federal relief money to educational institutions that partner with the Chinese Communist Party.

The Confucius Institutes are Chinese government-funded locations on college campuses, primarily in the United States and other western countries, ostensibly to teach Mandarin and Chinese culture. In reality, the institutes are a communist front for centers of propaganda.

The first Confucius Institute opened in South Korea in 2004. A 2017 study by the National Association of Scholars found that the number of Confucius Institutes housed at colleges and universities is more than 1,000 worldwide with 103 in the United States. In addition, over 500 Confucius classrooms are housed in U.S. kindergarten through 12th grade schools.

Confucius say “ man who cooks carrots and pees in pot is very unsanitary”.

The Confucius Institutes are basically intel outposts for spying on research faculty and labs at certain universities. It would stand to reason that these centers are also the conduits through which bribes flow to U.S. scientists willing to share research with the CCP for cash.

BTW, Chinese exchange students make great spies. They're innocent looking and ask a lot of questions.

And if they are caught trying to offer a bribe, they can say they were misunderstood due to language difficulties.

And, of course, their young women are great honeypots for randy professors.

They are also there to provide a base for keeping an eye on Chinese students in the USA to make sure they don’t stray.

They even hunt them down and beat them.

The Biden people really showed whose side they were on when they revoked Trump’s order on disclosure.

One would think “Why would they be worried about disclosing that relationship?”

Why indeed.

"...their young women are great honeypots for randy professors..."

Or Democrats on Intelligence Committees.

Is there any good thing Trump has done that the Biden Administration hasn’t undone?

And the CCP probably thinks the leftist education system is not indoctrinating students fast enough to meet their Belt and Road world domination schedule.

Sigh.

Communist Chinese are completely unprincipled and clever.

American Leftists are completely unprincipled and stupid.

In general, Americans try to be principled and don’t value “cleverness”. We tend to look down on dissembling and conniving people. We try to be straightforward, direct eye contact is good, handshake is as good as a contract, all above the table.

That is the stereotype, at least, and there are always truth to stereotypes.

And as a result, we are exploited up to our necks.

I think this is one of the reasons Trump is hated by the Left and Chinese Communists. He certainly sees the Left and the Communist Chinese for what they are, and wasn’t afraid to speak out.

It’s a lot easier to be “clever” when you are a lying, murdering, cheating police state.

My office mate at the university where I worked was from the Peoples’ Republic of China. I noticed one day that he was online with the Confucius Institute. He traveled easily back to China over vacation periods. On a regular basis he was on the phone with someone for long periods of time during which he only spoke Chinese. He also hacked the university’s mainframe within weeks of being hired. I wish I could have monitored his computer usage when he left work in the evening but continued to access our office computer remotely. What was he doing those evenings? Spying via computer?
