Yup, I remember in a pinch using our gas stove to heat the house when the power was out in Connecticut.

After a winter where power was out for close to 2 days, we replaced our electric stove with gas, as a supplement to our fireplace. And stocked lots of wood.

Been there as well down in Mississippi. And it was NOT a good sub for the regular heating system either. Must have been a heck of a stove if it heated the whole house. LOL!
