They have a demand surge in their plants and simply choose not to pay the market, easier to just shut down the grid and let people freeze. Its about the money.
And, all wind power is frozen and solar has ice covering the cells, so 4 megawatts offline.
Does not surprise me, a bit.
Who signed off on all of this wind and solar power, for us (Texans)?
I don’t remember being asked if I wanted it, or approved of it.

We’ve, thankfully, been fine....all night, and today.
We have friends whose power has been off since wee hours, this morning. A couple of them do not have fireplaces.
Now is the time to start going after all your reps and senators and Abbott and tell them if any of these jagoff consider ANYTHING green energy again, you will use theirs and their families carcasses for fuel! Problem is, when it gets nice this weekend and all this crap melts, Texans will just walk around in a daze again. Its time to blow up Austin.
Hope their water pipes donβt freeze.
T Boone Pickens greased the right palms bock in 2008 and they went up everywhere. That’s who. The Governor was Perry, and Abbot was his AG.
The only fireplaces I ever saw in Texas hones (where I lived) were Natural gas. Even without electricity you still got heat.
Liberals are ending natural gas. I do hope the vermin Californicators who are invading Texas get a dose of what they force on us good and hard.
On sites like powertochoose.com, never pick the companies that say 100 percent wind.
