The whole point of the show is to draw viewers. Just like Dancing with the Stars got fantastic ratings when Sean Spicer was dancing, having Claudia Conway on the show will draw viewers.

You are correct, that is how they get viewers. However, DWTS promotes using noted personalities while American Idol promotes the “finding the needle in the haystack” singer from random candidates.

Claudia’s “audition” and golden ticket, was neither random, not based on her talent. As I said, she’s an OK singer, but definitely not in the same league of so many other, actual random candidates.
