I don’t disagree that it is a choice. As is every other vaccine. As is everything else.
Tell me why this red herring argument is even offered?
No strong opinion on the vaccine, but I can tell you why the “my body, my choice” meme is out there - this is the first vaccine where there is serious talk about making it mandatory. A “vaccine passport” for example. Or a requirement to travel or even stay employed. That has a lot of people concerned. It is the masking requirement times ten.
Not necessarily.
As a retiree I’m not directly affected; however, it is alarming to see how many professionals from the healthcare industry to banks to first responders who are, for all intents and purposes, under mandate to get the vaccine.
Refusal would likely negatively impact (if not ruin) their careers.
Because people do not trust the Government or Big Pharma. Blame whomever you want for that situation but the fact is people just do not trust the people pushing this vaccine. Honestly people like Bill Gates should have just kept his mouths shut, but no they had to inject themselves (pun intended) into the debate. Many people do not trust Gates, his wife or their foundation. Of course Ezekiel Emmanuel the 21st Century’s Doctor Death could not help himself either and thought we wanted his opinion. To date, they have fully vaccinated 11 million out of a population of 325 million. They need 70% for herd immunity I believe. Baby boomers stand at around 60 million people. Even if they vaccinated everyone of us boomers, you would still need about another 167 million people to reach herd immunity. Boomers really do not want to be the test monkeys for this vaccine. Even the medical community can not agree on this vaccine.
