Using Fauci as an authoritative source on this virus is like using Nancy Pelosi as an authoritative source on the Constitution.
I have four years of undergraduate training, followed by 6 years as a critical care nurse, and 3 years of graduate school.
I never said I was a doctor or that my training was superior, inferior, or equal to anyone else’s. I simply said I am not a giant illiterate dummy who can’t read medical literature, or am without any clinical experience.
Instead, I simply pointed out statements of fact regarding these drugs. I was met with “shut up, nurse. I’m a doctor with super secret knowledge that you couldn’t possibly know or understand”.
The statements in the tread speak for themselves.
… I have 10 years of post collegiate training six years post doctoral training.
34 years of clinical neurology here, post. Training
It has been quite… humbling
Unlearning what I thought I knew has been quite a journey
And I will soon retire
But COVID has forced a lot of paradigm shifts,
I hear calls for “safety” where it doesn’t exist. Not here.
A lot of definite opinions where there are more questions than answers
Rationalizing, where Reason has lost its path
It has always been this way, and until we meet God, it will always be
There is only a 0.05% chance of dying from Covid 19. The efficacy studies for the vaccine could not produce statistically significant numbers. The test they are using for “cases” gives 80% false positives, and cannot distinguish between Covid and common cold, active of past infection. There is a consensus among doctors that we have already reached herd immunity. The false Covid narrative is being pushed to crash the world economy and usher in a new digital currency.

There is no high horse about it. A physician has a lot more rigorous and longer training and expertise than a nurse. It’s the same as saying a plumber has a lot more training and experience with pipes than a carpenter. It is simply a fact

Perhaps it is more the attitude than the credentials. One can learn more sometimes from people outside a profession or glean a fresh perspective on a problem.
There is also the issue of herd thinking, as opposed to herd immunity. Any professional group, tends to reinforce its own thinking and often violently rejects anything outside its current thinking. As example consider that when the concept of tectonic plates and continental drift was proposed, the idea was not greeted by scientists as an interesting idea, but a threat to their order.
Bravo. The more you know, the more you realize how much you dont know. Those who don’t understand that always display SOPHOMORIC ARROGANCE.

… “Egomania is a common flaw found in certain professions”
Consider it a self deprecating statement
Fauci also recently stated that masking will remain until COVID was no longer a threat “at all”.
The goalposts are moving faster than the speed of light right now.
In as much as the “vaccine” does the same thing that Covid-19 does - triggers the immune system to make antibodies against a critical protein of the virus - and in as much as the Virus is (a) not fatal to over 90% 9f the population, (b) does not even raise a severe illness in most who become infected with it, and (c) measures to protect those who are the most vulnerable to it are readily available, and (d) treatments to (1) prevent the need for hospitalization, (2) shorten hospitalization time, (3) prevent fatalities in the most severe cases, then it all sounds like letting herd immunity take its course would require less investment, can be done while holding down fatalities and will be just as much of a preventative as the “vaccines”.
If the majority of the population was faced with possible fatality from Covid-19 it would be a different story. But the actual case of Covid-19 is the opposite - it fatally affects a small minority of the population. and While that vulnerable minority deserves some protection, that protection is acquired by enough folks having some NATURAL immunity to the virus, which can just as well be obtained by the 90+% of the population acquiring those immunities naturally.
There is certainly zero science that says the mRNA triggered antibodies will continue to be made and/or remain active even as long as such antibodies acquired by the body naturally.
The cytokine response is triggered when a very large number of cells are already infected by the time the immune response kicks in. So you should have probably less risk of a future cytokine storm should you be exposed to COVID later on, since your body is already primed to kill the virus before it gets out of control.
The question regarding the risks of the vaccine vs. the disease for those who are young is on point, but you should recall that everyone now young will be old. Having known someone who almost died after first contracting chicken pox at age 18, that is not a trivial matter.
“2. Usually 5 years of data is needed to say a vaccine is safe.”
We have thousands of years of data on eating eggs.
What are the experts recommending this week?
… Having known someone who almost died after first contracting chicken pox at age 18
Or remember first hand the Polio epidemic…
Or have served in a leprosarium
That is quite a discussion over there! Gracias!
I don’t disagree with a thing you have said
And people like you are why i will happily retire in the next year after 35 years of clinical practice. Everyone thinks their ability to google equals a medical degree residency training and years of experience and they have a right to say what i can do with my precious little free time... Have at it. Your care will increasingly be by less than fully trained providers with minimal medical training ( look how how much training advanced practice providers actually have) but you will have google to fall back on. I will thoroughly enjoy my retirement.
Don’t forget how your lerned betters told you to be smart like them and eat margarine. I chose to be dumb and not eat some weird Frankenstein transfat. I avoided getting heart disease and clogged arteries. Sadly so many others chose to be “smart”.
“What is your opinion on the J&J vaccine?”
When I look for medical information one of the sources I use is WEBMD.
“The J&J vaccine was 66% effective at preventing moderate to severe COVID-19, and 85% protective against the most serious symptoms, according to early results of the clinical trial that included 44,000 people in the United States, Latin America and South Africa, the AP reported. And starting 28 days after receiving the vaccine, no one who got it required hospitalization or died.”
Now this is a single shot vaccine and is up for approval in late February. But it will still have to be watched as 44M is a relatively small piece of 7.64B in the world. And none of the articles I read about it identified any side effects. Doesn’t mean they aren’t there, just not reported. And I can’t find anything on re-infection down the road or booster needs. Have to wait and see.

Ha!
I thought my post might get a rise out of you.
Get over yourself, mom.
