First vaccine in history that does not prevent the person from getting infected.
Granted this is a new type of vaccine....I would like to see data showing this.
I personally think it’s because they don’t want people not wearing masks and claiming they have been vaccinated....or all the social issues that might come from this.
I agree the reason for these articles is they don’t want people not wearing masks claiming they were vaccinated when they were not.
The headline and article are misleading. The mRNA vaccines are very effective when considered two weeks after the second dose. Read the whole article and even it states that at that point there are no cases beyond mild symptoms. I am in the Moderna study and recently learned I did receive the vaccine last September. They provided the detailed December report prior to unmasking as part of the informed consent prior to unmasking. In the study there were 5 vaccine participants who tested positive for the virus, none had anything more than mild symptoms. That meant the symptoms did not interfere with their daily life.
Reading the whole article, the reports of illness beyond asymptotmaticly testing positive or mild symptoms in the now millions of people receiving the vaccine are consistent with the study findings. All those who were really ill had not reached the two week after the second dose time frame. None were in the time frame where immunity is most effective. That’s with now millions of people protected. But they still want us all to wear the masks. That’s the BS.
I travelled a lot after receiving the vaccine. Lots of opportunities to become infected, and I have continued to follow the protocols, but I’m really getting tired of it. I have seen no reports regarding the real potential for a vaccinated person two weeks past the second dose being contagious. It seems the o ly folks that are contagious are those in the first couple of weeks of actual illness while they have a fever, even if slight. We should really be focusing on taking temperatures and get rid of masks when there are none.
