I had plenty of TP, paper towels, a pretty good amount of food, going into the early Covid period. Guns and ammo were all lost in a tragic boating accident. I had a big box of masks I had bought post-SARs in the prepper closet. Have a small stash of quality freeze dried food I haven’t had to touch.
I managed to hit Costco for a bunch of food early on. Was then OK to hunker down until the supply chain issues started to settle out.
Have at least three places I could bail out to if SHTF here, but am suburban enough I think I’d be OK for a while. Good police force and leadership. SHTF bailout options include one within an hours drive exurban, one 2 hours away very rural, and one 5 hours away with family that’s also rural/exurban. Not very worried about travel restrictions.
I’m not an uber-prepper, but I was better prepared than most, is how I would characterize my situation and history. I have continued to look for opportunities to improve. Have a better long-term rice and beans stash now, in case of severe emergency, for example. Cheap and easy. Looked at some more freeze-dried stuff in-store at Costco the other day, but it was all carbs, no protein, so I passed.
Spam is an awesome protein, packs easily

Agree, the stuff is crap. If you’re going to get carbs, then just get cheap carbs like rice or noodles.
In looking at Amazon, Mountain House has a few zero-carb items, finally (chicken and two types of beef)...but they do cost a pretty buck...but since they’ll likely outlive all of us, it still may not be a bad investment as we can pass it down, if necessary.
