Have a friend who, while on a missions trip to South America, was in a bus accident that nearly cost him his leg.
If it had not been for his parents flying down and getting him evacuated back stateside, they would have amputated it right there.
As it is, and after 6 months in a cast after surgery and some extremely painful physical therapy (like pass out from the pain), he walks with virtually no limp unless he’s very tired.
So, Ms. Judd has a long row to hoe, I’m sure.
A couple of old cowboys I know were elk hunting in the mountains when one had his horse roll on him and break his leg. They splinted him up and rode out. When asked how long it took he said 3 bottles of Jack.
Not a fan of Ashley. But glad to hear she repeatedly reached for prayer. Although knowing her this article is probably a set up to shoot it as a film or tv special in the future or to generate future work by sympathy, recognition, and virtue signaling sadly. But I wish her well in her recovery.
Similar thing here, only it was my wife. In the 80s she worked as a nurse for USAID at a remote “hospital” in Africa, really just a small out-patient clinic. One day she shattered her ankle playing volleyball with other USAID employees. Then, yes, was pulled in an oxcart for 12 hours over some extremely rough jungle paths, in excruciating pain. If she hadn’t been a USAID employee she would’ve lost her foot, and maybe her life. When it acts up she still walks with a very bad limp.
