These celebrities make me sick. What Africa needs is free market capitalism, education, and the rule of law, and none of this stuff would be happening to them.

Years ago I was reading numerous articles trying to figure out why Sierra Leone was/is so poor.
A long civil war (no rule of law).
Once they finally did get an elected President, he was having a difficult time finding anybody with an education to put into the various offices. The schools had all been closed for the last 15(?) years due to the war.
And the lack of education also goes for trying to start/run companies.
He said they passed new laws so that mining companies working on government land had to pay the government a certain percentage. But, the local mayors or bureaucrats will take a direct cut from the miners, and then under-report their hauls from the mines.
There are Africans who support a free market system, but they’re probably in the minority, and their Red Chinese benefactors would hate it if Africa did that.
Bingo. Not to mention the only high paying job in the Congo is tour guiding silly twits like Judd who wants to see a gorilla. It never occurs to these left wing twits that capitalism is the source of her supposed privilege.
