Well, this skit was from the 1950’s, when divorce rape was less common.
Mainly because, before computerized databases, if the woman tried divorce-rape, a man could disappear into another state and be hard to find, and judges and women’s lawyers both knew it.
Its ridiculous though that anyone sxpect their standard of living to be the same after removing the person responsible in almost all cases for improving the womans standard of living by marrying thme in the first place
