Too few Americans understand the threat that China’s governing philosophy and structures pose to the US.
China envy runs strong among America’s progressive elite. The Communist Party of China’s hold on power and centralized decision-making has long appealed to progressives infuriated with their inability to mandate solutions to global warming (and other progressive priorities).
Tom Friedman, an established bellwether of elite opinion, has been voicing this exasperation for more than a decade. Last weekend he reduced the genocide in Xinjiang to “bad stuff with the Uighurs,” of less concern than Chinese excellence in high-speed rail.
Far too few Americans grasp the implications of such a view taking root among their own elite. Though more and more Americans are awakening to the challenges inherent in China’s growing economic, technological, and military capabilities, few understand the threat that China’s governing philosophy and structures pose to the US.
As David Goldman has explained, though the CPC is nominally Communist, China is what it has been for millennia: an empire run by oligarchic mandarins. The appeal to an American elite that sees itself as a worthy meritocracy enamored of governance by bureaucratic experts is obvious.
Americans need to understand that beyond mere appeal and envy, there is a growing convergence of interests between China’s entrenched communist oligarchs and America’s emerging progressive oligarchs.

China doesn’t rule with an “iron fist” - rather, it now rules with a “silicon fist”
And American leftists and deep-state bureaucrats are so aroused by this idea, it gives them an erection.
The US system of governmnet is exactly the same as China’s.
I've always thought that socialism (communism, fascism, ___ism) was just a way to repackage feudalism in modern terminology so that those who lost their power in increasingly democratic societies could try to regain it.
Our politicians are really no different than the royalty and nobility of the past. They are there to control, and we are here to serve them. Our Constitution tried to prevent this, but they found a way around it anyway.
And now we have a Chinese puppet installed as "president." How far we have fallen, and we haven't hit bottom yet.
A dream come true: As a child I had a dream that I told my parents and siblings well over half a century ago. . .The dream featured a huge airplane (the old model) with a line of several windows that was sitting north of our home. I saw myself standing there observing people who all looked alike staring at me with their heads continuously bobbing side to side in unison. I believe the plane was on its belly. The nationality. . .you guessed it.
Liberals think they finally found a way that Marxism will work....and it is the brand new idea of “Fascism”, where private ownership of business is permitted so long as it benefits the Party.
The truth is that it works BETTER than straight Marxism, but not for long. Eventually it needs to expand and take over territory & resources just as Germany did.
The US system of governmnet is exactly the same as China’s.
Some major differences still exist, but they are definitely drawing closer to each other in terms of one-party, centralized rule, total media and tech control of society, crony-capitalism, central-planning and massive debt.
China didn’t pump billions of dollars into the American economy and political system for nothing.
.
The CCP is directing the left under the new Resident’s benevolent eyes to follow in Mao’s revolutionary footsteps by inventing the “cancel culture” to cancel the hated American culture with the same vicious hate that Mao used. Public shamings are being used in person and through firings and boycotts. Next step, the shamings will become move vicious permitting physical beatings and even killings.
By following this Mao model of the Chinese Cultural Revolution, it will make it far easier for the Central Committee and the MSS to mold the US into a controllable provenance of China.
