Hahaha...when I was in the USN as a jet mechanic, in the cockpits of the planes there is a relief tube (for the pilots to use in flight) that has a cone shaped thing on the end of it.

We would tell the new guys it was an emergency oxygen apparatus they had to test while checking out the plane, and would tell them they had to put it over their mouth and nose and breathe in and out!

I don’t recall if I fell for it, but I suppose I might have...:)

Did an old sheep dog show up? You might have to wait a while he’s really old.

“ In January last year, scientists were able to 3D-print the vocal tract of a 3,000-year-old mummy named Nesyamun and bring his voice back from the dead. But the re-creation was only able to sound out specific vowels and ended up sounding like an apathetic groan. Nesyamun’s voice was back, but all he could do was “ehhhh.”

Yeah after a few thousand years of being dead, you’d be a lil bit rusty in talking too.

interesting idea! Kind of a dud in implementation though.

The other reason for the hole is to put a small knife in there to cut the one place where the conch is attached to the shell. You then pull the meat out, clean away the one alimentary canal and eat the meat. Mr. Mercat and I camped on the coast of Yucatán 45 years ago and conch was often what was for dinner.

Love me some conch. Nothing better the grabbing it your self. Tastes way better. 😋

Good memories you triggered in me. Thanks.
