In the early 70’s I gave comprehensive presentations about all manner of power production.

One of the more ‘interesting’ comments I fielded from an audience - in FAR west Oregon - had to do with the commenter worrying about the radiation that would get into the house through the electrical outlets.

I countered with: “there’s a large garbage-to-electricity plant a few miles from here. Are you also worried about your house filling up with garbage???”

I kept a close eye on my rear-view mirror all the way back to ‘civilization!
