The Guard isn’t like the Regular military. Claim a hardship and you bounce. But, you’re probably one of those types that thinks there really was an insurrection at the Capitol and all those “Right Wind Extremists” are bad, bad people and don’t belong in the same Republican Party as you and Jeb. Oh wait...I’m a Republican and I’m virtuous and moral and righteous and always play by the rules.
Having those Guard guys there gives credence to the threats that neither the DOJ, FBI, or Congress will tell anyone about or the intelligence they’re basing those decisions on.

These Guard members aren’t on some deployment to some 3rd world dump on the other side of the planet. They’re in a major US city. The Capitol of the country, no less.
