Do you think they boiled it first?

You’re right. If you can’t ingest hydration and you’re on the edge, you gotta do what you gotta do. I’m just surprised. That’s a triage decision I wouldn’t have considered.

I have never personally witnessed the procedure.
That said, it is all about time, that ‘golden hour’ only lasts a few minutes, if that long.
I had seen a photo,I don’t believe was fake? Pre photoshop.
And it was not the focus of the photo.

Emergency coconut IVs were reportedly used by the British and Japanese during World War II, and they’ve been clinically tested on humans several times to see how well they’d be tolerated. Answer: overall, pretty well.
