the risk and damage to society and individuals by their actions is a matter for all of us to contend with.Are those risks and damages qualitatively different from those related to alcohol use? Should that drug also be banned?

That is not a fair or legit comparison. It’s fine if you want to find excuse for pot, but there is no excuse for pot. I know I’m a minority here in this, but it should remain illegal it should return to be totally illegal everywhere.
