A kidnapping of a young boy and girl leads to a confusion of identities of just who was the boy kidnapped with Secretary Kim. But it is a fact that whenever the CEO closes his eyes to kiss her, he sees violent images that don't help a romance to progress.
PING
That’s a great show! The last scene—the big one—actually took my breath away!
Love KDramas. They are such a great substitute for Hollywood trash.
It was one of the first romances I saw after going thru the crime shows that first interested me. And after seeing this I was thrilled and caught with Korean and Chinese romantic comedies. And this one is still one of those I like best. Logging this was SUCH fun! I can’t bring myself to watch Hollywood anything after discovering these. I feel transported back to the 1950’s with 2020’s production quality.
The description posted above makes no sense and does not describe the show. This is the actual show description: The YouTube link takes you a badly made fan made music video with scenes from the show playing along with the sound.
What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim
Can you be so self-absorbed that you have no idea what’s truly going on around you? Lee Yeong Joon (Park Seo Joon) is vice president of his family-owned company, Yoomyung Group. He is so narcissistic that he doesn’t pay attention to what his trusty secretary, Kim Mi So (Park Min Young), is trying to tell him most of the time.
After nine years of making Yeong Joon look good and stroking his very large ego, Min So decides to quit her job. Yeong Joon’s older brother, Lee Sung Yeon (Lee Tae Hwan), is a famous author who is in love with Mi So.
Can Yeong Joon accept the fact that Mi So no longer wants to work for him or will he get the wrong idea?
“What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” is a 2018 South Korean drama series directed by Park Joon Hwa. It is based on a novel by Jung Kyung Yoon. A 2016 webcomic by Kim Young Mi also was based on the same novel.
I have not watched the actual show, viki.com has some stellar offerings if you don’t mind reading subtitles.
I’m not describing the show, I’m describing the elements of the show that are brought out in my music video. As for badly made, you are fine to have that opinion. I support you completely.
What I do aren’t MTV music videos. Since 1984 I’ve been making literary music videos. They reinterpret lyrics of a song in a different visual context. Think short stories. If you can outline a short story, these videos will have similar structures. They’re layered, so you can get more meaning out of clips as you know the show better and understand the context more. Most extreme layering I can remember doing was for a Blakes 7 video where the words in the lyric were used with a clip from an episode of that name. They’re also used to pull people into a fandom so you have more people to “squee” with. This was very common in pulling people into the Starsky and Hutch fandom and out of Trek.
Long ago I gave a talk on them to the MIT Media Lab, where they were well received. There are almost 900 of them now and I’ve taught a generation of literary music video makers.
With 900 videos, there are stronger ones and weaker ones, agreed. Here are some you might find more understandable:
Deep Space Nine - The Load Out, Stay
https://youtu.be/w5pEUX2KAO8
Lord of the Rings - Ghost Riders
https://youtu.be/nceeTDWVv0c
Star Wars - The Saga Begins
https://youtu.be/v30lask4Ihw
NCIS - He’s a Rebel
https://youtu.be/MpNOg69i-kU
Miami Vice - Battle of New Orleans
https://youtu.be/impaURplyAc
I love them, too. They are such refreshing entertainment, devoid of the PC and meanness that are integral parts of just about all American entertainment these days.
I also recommend the movie “Parasite.” It was so completely Korean, and a lot of fun to watch.
Thanks, Aqua. Twas no easy feat to get the gunshots to match. I do love Toy Soldier, but I was just reminded of this one:
Star Trek Movies - Let’s Make Some Memories - Jane Oliver
I LOVE her voice. The power sends shivers down me.
Hope you’re well. We’re covered in the deepest snow of this or last year.
We've had quite a bit of snow this year that stays on the mountains and makes the valleys feel like a refrigerator. It got up to 60 degrees today so maybe it will melt now.
