Dems know they're going to lose the House and Senate in the midterms and that Trump will win in 2024. Or else, why hold an impeachment trial now? If they were confident, they could simply wait until after the midterms, re-impeach Trump (you know exactly what the headlines will look like: Trump, Thrice Impeached President in History!) and hold a trial then.
Exactly!
democraps control the people, the process, the voting machines, the people counting the vote, the judiciary and 20 million or so new democrap voters by way of illegal aliens being granted amnesty.
Anyone who thinks Republicans have a chance in he8l in ‘22 and ‘24 is someone I want to sell waterfront property in Phoenix to.
I think it’s more about giving the media something to chew on and to distract. Even as biased as the MSM is, they will become bored with asking how Biden’s dog is and what kind of ice cream he ate the night before.
Thanks. It just makes no sense to conduct a trial now - it steps all over the Biden agenda. But they know Trump will run again and that he will win, so the only shot they’ve got to keep him from winning is a senate conviction, but that looks like a long shot anyway.
Agreed. But a lot can happen in two years. It’s several lifetimes in politics. And there’s a natural pendulum swing to American elections.
Good point.
“it steps all over the Biden agenda” I think that is the exact purpose. Not so much step over but step around. I don’t watch but I bet CNN has an impeachment countdown clock. Keep an eye out for more EOs in the coming weeks.
Sure, but without meaningful, enforceable changes to current election law in several states, thousands of ballots can appear out of nowhere and be counted regardless the pendulum swing of the voter.
I fear we’ve seen the last of fair and honest elections.
According to the media narrative, Trump just lost the election to Biden. And he lost the popular vote twice. If this were true, the Dems would WANT him to run again. But they know he really won.
“Dems know they’re going to lose the House and Senate in the midterms”
And what leads one to believe that?
That’s true, but with their weapon of mass distraction - media noise machine - so firmly in their grip, manufacturing distractions (notice the Marjorie Taylor Greene shiny object) shouldn’t be such a tall order. The only way impeachment makes any sense is that they know this is their one and only shot at taking out Trump.
There are a number of swing states where the GOP will be enacting sweeping election reform, so it’s not hopeless. Not yet.
Problem they have is that in actuality, he is still really the President. So they need to impeach him while they can.
I would wager to say that before the middle of the week there will be lots of threats and blackmail cards in the Senate, or else there will be a false flag event blamed on the right and Trump.
By their actions. If they knew with certainty their majority control of the legislative branch was unassailable, they would avail themselves of the luxury putting impeachment off until after the midterms, rather than embark on impeachment now, during the honeymoon period.
Trump won’t “win” because the leftists control the voting mechanism. He won this time but he still lost. Four years from now this county will be unrecognizable.
Couldn’t agree more. They absolutely know Trump won. And they dread he will run again and win.
Bingo.
I appreciate the civil discourse.
Of course election reform is happening in some swing states.
That said, unless part of that reform is to specifically prevent the state SOS’s from indiscriminately changing the reformed election law, there is nothing to prevent them from doing so. Witness Pennsylvania and Georgia this past election cycle.
