Three of my ancestors fought for the Union in the Civil War. Do I get an exemption from paying reparations?
One of these ancestors returned from the War apparently either ill or badly wounded. He had to sell his small farm and died fairly young. His son had to work to support himself and didn’t go to school. He was illiterate until his wife taught him to read and write. White privilege for sure?
I’ve no idea. My family moved from Europe in the early 20th century. One side was in Kansas during the Civil war but have no history on what they did or when they took the journey. Maybe they’ll give selected white people deferrals and only have to pay 50%?
