That hard drive may be save-able.

I bet it can be salvaged. FWIW, when OK had its premature ice storm on Oct. 26-27, the resulting power outages completely fried my motherboard. However, Office Depot was able to copy everything from the old hard drive onto the replacement PC that I had bought. Data copy only cost $50. Not too shabby.
