2yr old hyperactive tot should have had a child safety harness on. I rode the subways in NYC in 70s & 80s, and never saw a guardrail. Most stay near the walls, 15-20ft from the tracks, so a crazy doesn’t shove someone on to the tracks.

Exactly. Grew up in Chicago and took the el all the time. You have to stay away from the edges.

He thought it would be hysterical to hide from me in one of those clothes carousels.

I suddenly couldn’t see him and started screaming his name; people even came over to me.

Then I heard a giggle and saw a rustle of clothes... Opened up the clothing carousel and voila! LOL!

When I went to Ireland in ‘72, every mom with a toddler had them on a leather harness with a leash attached. Those kids were not going to slip away.

I bought one to bring home to use on my toddler.

Oh, the looks I got from other shoppers at the mall!
