The impeachment managers from the Democrat House, along with co-Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, seem convinced that a Senate “trial” will dispatch Donald Trump from the American scene.
Not so fast….
The first three days of the “trial” will highlight House managers arguing that former president Trump “incited violence” at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Which was preceded for weeks when “he [Trump] reiterated false claims that ‘we won this election, and we won it by a landslide’… false statements asserting that the Presidential election results were the product of widespread fraud and should not be accepted by the American people or certified by State or Federal Officials…

Then the fireworks on the Senate floor will begin.
Because the Senate “trial” is an extra-constitutional exhibition, it has no authority or binding power. Trump as reality TV show celebrity, with neither constraints, nor fears of the outcome, will be free to present his case in any manner, form, or construct that he chooses -- having no downside consequences.

And so, Trump is playing with “house” money. It doesn’t matter if he infuriates RINO senators who abandon their earlier position that a former president can be neither impeached by the House nor tried by the Senate. A “conviction” will be a meaningless resolution, in the form of the “sense of the Senate.” Trump can walk away with tens of millions of followers and future voters in tow, with Democrats’ veins a-bursting, and RINO hair afire.
Trump will enjoy an entertaining day — or days — on the floor of the US Senate, knowing he can vindicate those tens of millions of loyal voters who are deeply skeptical of Biden’s legitimacy

Sorry but I was replying to what you posted, not what you meant. The process for removing a congressman or Senator is less onerous than removing a President. Removing a President requires votes in both houses of Congress, while removing a member of the legislature requires only a vote n the house where they are a member.
Be careful what you wish for. Congressmen and Senators are elected by the people they represent. Overturning the will of the people SHOULD be difficult. Do we really want to give unelected judges with no accountability the power to decide that a congressman or Senator is guilty of some obscure law that nobody really knows about and must therefore be removed? Have there been dishonest congressmen and Senators? Certainly, but the Constitution does give a method for expulsion of blatant criminals. Situations such as the current one with Marjorie Green do not merit expulsion. Making it easier to expel a member would result in a lot more politically motivated expulsions, which would not be a desirable outcome.

The method is that 2/3 of the club members have to agree that a member violated the sacred rules of the club. I guess sleeping with a Chinese spy, which should be punishable by hanging, does not violate those sacred rules? Unfortunately, the rules are written by the club and for the club, the American people be damned!
The argument that we don’t want a non-elected judge to decide our fate swings both ways! John Roberts, a non-elected judge controlled and enabled the most massive heist in world history while the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, all elected judges, facilitated the heist! Elected vs non-elected means nothing. Checks and balances on those officials means everything.
I think its because you are concentrating on the wrong people. Michael Flynn’s brother General Charles Flynn who was just promoted to commanding General of the Army in the Pacific. Do you think for even one second that if Biden or his flunky Austin were in control that that promotion would happen? Not in a million years. Then there’s general John Hyton who’s in charge of USSSTRTCOM who I understand is the one actually running the show for Trump while he’s on “vacation”. You should start following Hyten on Twitter.
There were some alternative news people who went to DC on faux inauguration day and that week. They walked around and looked at what was going on and spoke to different groups of troops who were standing around. They were all relaxed, friendly, smiling. Two women who I watched talk about it said they point blank asked a group of four NtL guardsmen what they were there for. They said “ we’re not here to protect Biden and Congress we’re here to protect the constitution and you.

There is no downside to a full thoated defense. The ONLY thing the Senators can do is shut it down..in which case Trump wins. Even if all 100 get pissy and vote him “guilt” then as the article points out it has absolutely zero legal standing and zero legal consequences.

We already have. The Electoral College elected Biden, not Trump. Trump's term expired at noon on January 20th as mandated by the Constitution. Biden's term began on January 20th at noon as mandated by the Constitution. Biden is now the Commander-in-Chief as mandated by the Constitution because he is now the President of the United States.
We've also seen that every single thing you have said is totally wrong. One thing after another.
