The mother of one of the victims of the 2018 shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida, said she spoke to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., after Greene drew widespread backlash last week for outlandish comments she made on social media, including one suggesting that the shooting was a "false flag" operation.
The woman, Linda Beigel Schulman, whose son, Scott Beigel, was one of 17 people killed in the attack, said Greene told her that she does not believe major school shootings from the past decade were false flag events or that they had been staged. But, Schulman said, Greene declined to join her to publicly disavow them on MSNBC.

First of all, I am very sorry about death of Ms. Schulman's son...I think it was a good idea for Congresswoman to speak to Ms. Schulman...Congresswoman Greene told her that she could talk to others about their conversation...
"Unless she wants to get in front of the public and wants to right the wrong lies being espoused out there and wants to disavow the things that she said, no, I can't believe it," Schulman said, adding: "Maybe inside of her she believes it. I don't know. I have no idea. I'm not inside of her, but you can — words are very powerful, but actions speak louder than words."
I don't know if Congresswoman Greene should spend all her free time apologizing for her comments...She could just release a statement expressing her regret for some of her past comments. I do understand why Congresswoman Greene refused to go on MSNBC...MSNBC does not have a good track record of treating conservatives fairly...
I do not support efforts of some members of Congress to "punish" Congresswoman Greene...Voters in her district could "punish" her in 2022...By voting her out of office...Let the voters make the decision...
I don't believe that she could win a statewide race in Georgia...Like the US Senate seat...Doug Collins is probably a better candidate...

You are right on point. We cannot examine everything a candidate might have said in the past. It would just be unfair to hold would be office holders to such a standard.
For now, Greene is establishing herself as a strong candidate for the GOP nomination for the Georgia U.S. Senate seat in 2022.

We shouldn't and don't, but the Democrats and the media do it all the time, and since the Democrats have the media in their back pocket, they can run with whatever they want, and it gets the biggest coverage. The Democrats pull this crap regularly.
I believe Green was being honest with her. I'm also sure she would say in private that qanon is BS. But these folks don't want to offend the lunatics who believe this stuff and would crawl over broken glass to vote for someone "red pilled" like them, or against someone who denied their bizarre fantasy.

I never mentioned Freepers, or what any of them said about Obama. You’re the one who brought them into the conversation. I said Democrats, meaning Congressional Democrats. I was talking in the context of Congressional Democrats, and the Democrat Party attacking what someone said in the past, and using it against Congressional Republicans in order to damage them, and/or try to get them removed from committees, and even from Congress. Frankly I’m wondering why nobody brought any of this up when Greene was running for office. How did the Democrats miss that? But of course the fact that she’s a big Trump supporter, it suddenly matters what she said before she even ran for office. And of course Congressional RINOS fall right in line with the Democrats.

No, she's not. She's like AOC, someone that can win in a heavily one-party district, not a statewide election. Even more so for Greene, since Georgia is more blue than New York is red.
