GEORGIA — Georgia's own groundhog Gen. Beauregard Lee made his prediction Tuesday morning that the state will see an early spring.
A Twitter account dedicated to the rodent said on Monday that Lee will not be hosting his annual celebration on Tuesday, instead electing for a private event. Lee lives in Jackson, Georgia, at Dauset Trails.
His social media handler was quick to tweet out his decision early Tuesday: an early spring.

Oh noes, they named the critter after a Civil War character. Can’t have that, can we? MY prediction is that General Beauregard’s gonna have a name change right quick. Maybe the Biden gang of misfits and weirdos will name the poor thing General Soleimani, since they seem to like criminals and murderers.

When they said Phil’s name the little groundhog looked up. He actually looked like he was smiling. I think those guys must talk to that little guy and he knows his name ❤️
