I’m not sure exactly what that means “Stand down”??
*******************************************
Sounds like “sensitivity training” perhaps...
This is as close as I can come to a meaning:
https://www.safeopedia.com/definition/4934/safety-stand-down
https://www.army.mil/article/120506/Bi_annual_Safety_Stand_Down_tunes_up_Soldier_awareness/
Perhaps a military person can provide the meaning.
“Stand down”??!!!!!!!!!!!!
Traditionally a command will all for a Stand Down in response to unit or command issues that are detrimental to the mission or the troops. For instance if there were several aircraft accidents in a specific model or several crashes of many platforms in a short span of time or under the same conditions the a commander might order a Stand Down to give those in charge a chance to investigate and also for the operators a chance for self examination and unit feedback sessions.
Usually these are for safety or morale issues to allow the troops a chance to reset. Military members cannot run full speed all the time without scheduled time for R&R. High ops tempos stress troops, equipment, as well as leadership.
Our troops have been on a War Footing since 9/11 and POTUS Trump was the first light at the end of the tunnel in thirty years. Now with the current election outcome there is NO ONE in the corner fighting for the troops.
I pray for our troops daily for I fear our nation is headed into danger with a poor imitation of a weak Jimmah Cahter at the helm with an inept entourage in tow.
Our troops are strong and resilient but a Cho Biden presidency may be a bridge too far.......
