In 1974 I turned 18 and got my first car. Just in time to wait on line for gas.

55 degrees at night can lead to hypothermia. Jimmy Carter was one of the worse presidents in American history. His prescriptions to solve problems were disasters. Amazing how the Democrats keep promoting these incompetents to run the country. Over and over again the country has to overcome these Democrat nitwits in the Oval Office.

I was 15 years old that year. I was too young to drive but remember sitting in the car with my father for about an hour just to get gas. Lines went around the block.

My parents were also the good citizens to actually put the thermostat to 55 degrees at night. I had layers of blankets and a space heater by my bed to get up in the morning with. I could see my breath when I got up in the morning!

I had to get up really early too as I had a morning paper route. That's another thing you don't see today - kids delivering the morning paper. Now it's middle-aged divorced men driving in mini-vans.

I remember Dan Ackroyd doing Jimmy Carter on SNL. The funniest bit was the "Pepsi Syndrome"

And there was Billy Carter that capitalized on the fame of brother Jimmy. Remember “Billy Beer”?

Can you imagine having to put up with having such a dingbat for a brother? Frankly, I don't know how Billy managed.

It was 55 degrees at night. And 65 degrees during the day. Hell, I freeze when the thermostat is set to 65 at night!
